Family Campout 2015

While the family was for Devin and Brittany's reception, we roamed out into the wild frontier of Diablo Lake for an overnight campout.  We found the perfect multi-tent camping site and set up for adventure. Just another gorgeous place here in the northwest to camp, hike and jet ski!

Dinner time, BBQ chicken over the grill

Rosy was happy about the tortilla chips.

Unfortunately there are no fires allowed this year. There was so little snow pack and such a hot summer that there have been a record number of forest fires.  Roasting marshmallows was confined to the camp stove.   I think Josh was trying to start his own fire with his marshmallow. He caught it on fire, multiple times, it was pretty funny.

Nothing beats an outdoor breakfast after a good night's sleep in a tent with your family, and the sun shining brightly. All ready for a day of fun.

We set off on the Thunderknob trail to take in the views.

Viewpoint one gave us a lovely mountain view.

The end of the trail was this incredible view of Diablo Lake from Thunderknob.  All that glacial water makes a beautiful green lake.
We fed a few squirrels and had a devotional by Eric, then headed back.
After the morning hike we were ready to hit the lake.  Devin and Brittany took the maiden voyage on the new jet ski.

Rosy wasn't too excited about that loud thing,
She preferred throwing rocks from the beach.
But Eleanor couldn't get enough of it, she would have ridden all day!

One short ride for Rosy and she was anxious to get back to shore!
