Hooray for Devin and Brittany, they saved the day helping us get ready for Christmas this year. Because of a fantastic kitchen remodel, which they also did a tremendous amount of work on, and a trip to Maui, we were feeling a little behind on our Christmas preparations. These guys were up for the challenge and I was super grateful!
The cutting of the tree. It only took us seven tree farms to find the right tree this year. Wow, it doesn't pay to wait too long around here. We also need to remember never to go to Big Lake for trees. They were a little less than beautiful.
We found the winner just before dark and the place was about to close over by District Line Rd.
This was Brittany's first time to cut down a live tree. It smelled wonderful!
Devin was feeling ambitious this year and decided that the gingerbread house should be a gingerbread manger scene this year. He was also a little hungry at the time apparently.
The results after a long night's work, spectacular!
With Brittany's help we got the whole house and tree decorated while the guys home inspected. We enjoyed watching "White Christmas" while putting the lights and ornaments on, it was fun to sing along with Bing!
While the kids were here we did tons of work finishing the kitchen but we managed to squeeze in a night of crazy fun at the race track.
A few bumps and bruises later, we crowned Devin the winner!
I don't think this was the crown he was expecting, haha!
