A whole pound of YUM!

So, everyone's heard of the famous BIG JUD'S, right?
What, you've never been there when you were driving
through Ashton Idaho on your way to view Mesa Falls,
or to go fishing on Henry's Fork? Come on!
I guess you just haven't lived then!
I don't even know how I have lived so long
without going until Memorial Day.
But, life has taken on new meaning since then, and I didn't
even EAT the full one pound burger WITH fresh cut fries
AND a waffle cone.
Like some people I know.
Pictured above are eight very hungry people.
We're talking super size hunger.
We're talking the kind of hungry you get after
some serious bouldering down to a gorgeous waterfall,
and climbing all the way back up again.
Seriously.
Yes, these are the people, namely,
Devin, Eric, Robert, Susan,
Lisa, Keith, Jared and Eric.
So, being hungry, but not too greedy,
Devin and Eric decided to split
one of these gargantuous burgers. Big, but surprisingly delicious.
Even more surprising was how quickly both halves
were completely consumed!
You see the wall of photos behind Devin?
Yep, pictures of all the people who have managed
to pig out on the whole burger all by themselves.
Also a few who ate the burger double and triple size.
Ridiculous!
Devin is definitely a fan!
Afterwards they had yummy wafflecones. MMmmm.
My burger was the usual size, but unusually good, I must say.
And fresh cut fries right smack dab in the middle of the
best potato country in the country,
were just downright delicious! I'm a fan too!

Visiting the Strucks

Diane and Dennis were lovely hosts, we felt very welcome.
We were treated to a great African meal of chipatees, and then on to game time!
Guesstures was fun, boys vs. girls, lots of good competition, everyone gesturing and guessing,
as the name implies. I laughed so hard my insides ached. That's what I call a good time.
(And I'll never forget what a caveman really looks like.)
A nice waffle and strawberry breakfast greeted us Sunday morning before we headed
up to Rexburg to see Devin. It was great to visit with Diane & Dennis and Katie & Josh.

Strawberry Reservoir

Keith and I were looking forward to spending a few days with the out of state kids over Memorial Day weekend. We were also very excited about basking in the sunshine which is usually quite abundant in Utah this time of year. As you can see in these pictures, we did get to see our kids and did NOT get to see the sun.
Keith spent a good deal of time and effort getting everyone geared up for fishing. This is something he really enjoys. Each lake and river has it's own variety of recommended bait, which requires alot of research and trips to sporting goods stores. Luckily, there is a Cabellas pretty handy in Utah.

Despite the weather, we are determined to not only fish, but also to have fun!

Here we are at Strawberry Reservoir, the best fishing in 3 states. Except for today.
But you've got to give us credit. We endured 45 degree weather with gusty winds and rain showers, most of us in shorts and light jackets we grabbed at the last minute, just in case.
And we managed to have a pretty good time anyhow!

A Sweet Ride

Devin is pretty happy about having a truck.
He looks good, too, doesn't he?
Yeah, it's a pretty sweet ride.
Apparently it does well in the dunes, too.

Win it Forward

I just got lucky and won something on a friend's blog. How lucky are you? I double dare you to accept this challenge. This game involves a few of my favorite things: handmade goods, creativity, and gift-giving.Here are the tagging instructions: The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.

2. What I create will be just for you.

3. It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)

4. You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something unusual.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog. OR, since I know there are several people who read my blog who don't have a blog of their own, you can win if you are willing to make something for three random people. The first 3 people to leave a comment telling me they will win it forward get a fabulous homemade gift by me! Oh, and if you have a blog, be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it.

Dress Details

Such pretty details on the dress.
A different way to bustle the dress.

The buttons took a little bit of time and a
crochet hook to fasten.

The cutest picture of the day!
