Reception at the Old Schoolhouse

This schoolhouse sits on the Williams property. It is over

one hundred years old. The Williams have lovingly and

painstakingly refurbished it inside and created a very

usable space with a big kitchen and bathrooms and showers.

They are very generous and let us use it for Diane and Dennis'

reception. I think it's very charming!

Diane wanted lights and fabric draped from the ceiling.

Starting almost a month ago, Keith has been planning

how to do this and getting the hardware put in place.

Getting the lights and fabric up was not too bad,

but getting everything even was challenging.

Needless to say, he put many hours into this project.

It turned out just great, a nice elegant touch.

The table roses looked gorgeous. The tealight candles had
a super cute vinyl with an S for Struck on them.


Richard, Diana and baby Michael came up from Seattle
to be with us that night.

The food was wonderful. Diane wanted fruit, veggies,

green salad and bread sticks. We served the salad in cups,

which was cute and easy. Our friends provided

many of the pretty serving pieces, and some really, really

good friends cut and served the fresh fruit and veggies.

They worked hard and it turned out just perfect!

During the reception at the old school house, Diane and Dennis

went outside for a few pictures. When I saw them through the

window, I just had to take advantage of the cute window framing

and get a picture of them from the inside!

The back of Diane's dress is so pretty.

Dennis looks pretty happy too.

Wow, these girls are all so beautiful. What good friends and

family Diane has in her life! Thanks for making this day so

special for Diane!

April Conference

I think the best part about having byu tv is being able to watch

General Conference at home. This of course,

creates all sorts of possibilities

for making the weekend special. Something to look forward to,

some traditions to anchor your wonderful feelings

about conference to.

What could be better than food?

It all started with conference muffins.

But we're saving those for the Sunday session,

so Saturday is a great time for

oven baked french toast and breakfast casserole,

two very yummy recipes I picked up from

Maryann Nash in Anacortes.

They are so special that she serves them for

Christmas breakfast at her house.

I think I need them twice a year,

so conference weekend fits the bill perfectly.

A little fruit and dip round out the meal.

Eric just wants me to quit taking pictures

so he can get busy eating!

We invite Grandma Hart, have a lovely meal at the table,

then settle down in our favorite spot

on a couch for the first session.

On to Sunday session.

We take some fruit and head north to Grandma Schenk's.

She provides the muffins and bacon,

and we all kick back in the living room

to enjoy another day of being spiritually fed.



A great way to celebrate and enjoy General Conference.
