Eric's Halloween Festivities

So Eric has now graduated up from Trick or Treating

to Partying on Halloween. I think the transition was

fairly smooth. The Atikinson's invited all the kids in the stake over for

dinner and games on Halloween. Here's the motley crew

posing on the giant rock in the backyard. Eric is doing a

fine disco pose!

What Halloween party would be complete without

the doughnut on a string game? They also played

some basketball, some pool, pogo sticking, and a

couple of other fun games, Norwegion Nose Dive

and Four on the Couch, (the boys won).

So now all the Schenk kids have donned the disco
outfit. This was originally worn in the Western
Washington Dance Festival in 1978 by Keith.
I think that qualifies it as a classic!

My visit to Utah

I loved the chance to visit Diane & Dennis and Katie & Josh.

Phone calls just can't take the place of actually being with

your family.

We had a big Sunday dinner with all the fixins' at Katie's
place. We celebrated Diane's birthday a couple of days
early that night.

Diane and I spent Saturday putting together the decorating

plan for her kitchen. It turned out so cute!

While there, I also went to an Indian restaurant for the first time

and had chicken tika masala. Very good.

I also got to see the Museum of Art exhibit Types and Shadows.

Black & White Party

Diane and Dennis dressed in their finest black & white duds

Katie & Josh threw a Black & White party the Friday
I was visiting in Utah. It was a fun twist on the
traditional Halloween type party.

donned his sparkly white tie for the occasion.

Katie found some fun refreshment ideas to serve.

The popcorn is drizzled with white chocolate, the
white and "black" chips were dipped in

black bean salsa, the chocolate truffles were

homemade, the drink was a pina colada type...

But the big hit was the army of penguins! So cute!

I love the way the pumpkins turned out.

It was fun meeting some of Katie's friends.

What a fun evening!

Fall Fishing & Hunting

Keith heard about this great river over in Eastern Washington

for Steelhead fishing. Well, the fishing turned out to be not

too impressive, but boating around was good fun.

You can't go to Eastern Washington in October and not

do some hunting while you're at it. This is the boys

and David Lindsey and his son Cooper. It's David's

boat in the picture above. From the reports I got,

Cooper is a real trooper.

As you can see, the hunt was very successful


I've never seen such fat pheasants! Good job, guys!

Happy 50th Birthday Keith!

We celebrated this birthday with a nice dinner

and the ever popular carrot cake.

Fify candles really

If you weren't there to behold the amazing feat,

let me just tell you, I've never seen 50 candles

blown out at such lightening speed.

Truly a proud moment for all Schenks everywhere.

Aaaargh!

The youth in our stake are getting more creative all the time.

When you want to have a costume dance, but you need to find a

way to exclude all the gory, and otherwise inappropriate

costumes that usually appeal to teenagers,what's your

angle? How about "dress up as a Disney Character".

Can you guess who Eric is? Well, apparently he is one of

Jack Sparrow's crew members from Pirates of the

Carribean. So, that qualifies as a Disney character!

Thanks to Devin for the fancy vest and shirt, stuff

he picked up in a Rexburg D.I. for one of his

costume parties at BYU-I last year.
