We love tubing on Lake Samish, especially when the sun is shining!

Mount Erie

Even though you can drive right up to the top of the mountain and walk on paved pathways to the lookouts, we still like to make things challenging. The boys took this opportunity to do a little impromptu rock climbing.
It was a hazy day, but still very beautiful.

Fishing Trip and Waterfall

This is the story of a serendipitous event. While intending to spend the afternoon fishing, we ended up finding a beautiful waterfall instead. First, the waterfall story.
When we pulled off the highway, we could hear the roar of the waterfall, but the trail was covered with shrubbery. Intrepid adventurers that we are, the search continued until the path was found.
Devin and Keith found the way across the raging river.
They even made a rock pathway across the water for the rest of us to follow.

Once across the river, we found a rope to assist the climb up to the lookout area.
What a gorgeous sight! Well worth the work to get to it!

Now the story of the intended fishing trip.

So Katie & Josh came up for a few days, with the specific goal of doing a little fishing. Keith had heard of a place called Gee Lake up in the mountains where you can always catch a lot of fish. Perfect! We loaded up the kayaks for their maiden voyage, fishing poles and picnic food. As we wound our way up the logging roads, THIS is what we found! No chance of four wheeling our way over this log jam!

The next best thing is to climb around on the logs and have a little fun!

The view on the way down was sure nice.
Luckily we had a map that pointed out a waterful as a place of interest on the way back home.

Basically, as you enter your answer into the search box, a selection of pictures will show up. Choose the one that you like the best and enter the URL into the Mosaic maker. After you have all the questions answered, a mosaic will be created that is all about you. (sorta.) Sometimes the pictures were completely random and weird. This was fun and I like the way it turned out!
